Eve is the first single from Lou Gold's debut EP Somewhere Between Magic and Historical Materialism. If you like Frazey Ford, Brittany Howard, Lianne La Havas and Valerie June you will enjoy Gold’s thoughtful lyrics, honeyed tones and vintage soul sounds. Eve is about wanting to detach from the world as it is - away from capitalism and patriarchy and all the terrible things we do to ourselves and each other - to create a new world somewhere where we might all flourish, where women’s bodies don’t hold blame, and where we are allowed a slowness and a softness. In this world, Eve will have her garden.
